Who is Nitin Menon?
Very few people know that Nitin Menon was a cricketer before becoming an umpire. He took part in two List A matches but after that his career as a player in cricket could not progress further. After this he started umpiring in cricket like his father. Nitin’s father Narendra Menon also used to do umpiring. Nitin Menon was born in Madhya Pradesh and played domestic cricket with the same team. Menon, 39, could score only 7 runs in his cricketing career.

Please tell that Nitin started umpiring in international matches in 2017. On 26 January 2017, he made his debut in umpiring from T20 International. After this, on 15 March 2017, he umpired for the first time in the ODI matches played between Ireland and Afghanistan. At the same time, in Test cricket, he landed on the field for the first time in Afghanistan-West Indies Test 2019 for umpiring. A year after this, in 2020, he also joined the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires on the Indian side.

If we look at Nitin’s umpiring career, he has so far umpired in a total of 19 Test matches. Apart from this, he has also appeared in 42 ODIs and 61 T20 matches.
